Hyundai CRETA Electric

Hyundai Creta EV is an all-electric version of Hyundai's hot selling SUV Creta. The Creta EV launched in India in January.2025. Price of the base variant starts with Rs.17.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 24.38 lakh for top end model.

As usual, the Creta looks very handsome and bold from its exterior. The Creta EV shares its design language with the regular Creta, but with some EV-specific touches like a pixelated closed-grille, aerodynamic wheels and lighting elements. The lower portion of the grille having an auto open and close function, is a part of  battery management system.

The 17-inch alloy wheels of the car looks beautiful, these are designed to reduce drag and improve efficiency. Charging port is integrated into the front grille, making it easily accessible. A small storage space or frunk space of 22 liter is also made available under the front bonnet.

As the regular Creta, the EV variant of the car looks good from the rear too. An Electric badging is provided on the electric tail gate differentiate it from the ICE version. Overall, the Creta EV's exterior design is a blend of familiar Creta styling and EV-specific elements, creating a unique and appealing look.

The interior of the Hyundai Creta EV is designed to be spacious, comfortable and modern, with a focus on technology and convenience. It has a very premium cabin. The long sunroof provided on the Creta EV elevates its premium feel from inside.

The dashboard features two 10.25-inch screens, one for the infotainment system and the other for the digital instrument cluster. This gives the cabin a high-tech feel. Wireless mobile charger and two C-type charging points are provided. 

It has a nice 3-spoke steering wheel with three dots on the middle, other than the regular Hyundai logo, that represents a Morse code for H as in the Ioniq-5. Volume control and cruise control switches are provided on it. Gear selector is now provided on the steering wheel is making the center console more spacious.

Center console has a floating design, creating a sense of spaciousness, it houses the drive selector, cup holders and electronic parking break. Bottle holders are provided on all four doors. Cool glove box and ambient lighting are provided. A driver armrest provided is also having a small storage space, is good to hold wallets or snacks.

Front seats are very comfortable and are ventilated seats. Both the driver and co-driver seats has electrical adjustment. The driver seat have 8-way electrical adjustments with memory function to store preferred driving position. The co-driver seat also gets an electric boss mode, allowing rear passengers to adjust it for more legroom.

The rear seats are also well cushioned and offer good under-thigh support, even with the raised floor due to the battery pack. Three headrests are provided. It also have a 2-step reclining function for added comfort.

Features like AC vents, sunshades and a retractable tray with cup-holders with slots for phones or tablets are made available for rear passengers.

The Creta EV is powered by a single electric motor mounted on the front axle, driving the front wheels. The vehicle is provided with two battery pack options: A 42kWh pack with a claimed range of 390km, and a 51.4kWh pack with a claimed range of 473km. The long range variant offers 171hp and 255Nm torque, while the standard variant delivers 135hp and 200Nm of torque. The higher variant of the car can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 7.9sec. The instant torque delivery of electric motor makes overtaking effortless, both in city and highway conditions.

The Creta Electric offers three driving modes: Eco, Normal and Sport. Each mode offers a distinct driving experience, with varying levels of responsiveness and power delivery. The Eco mode prioritizes efficiency, while the Sport mode offers the most spirited performance.

The regenerative braking feature helps to recover energy and improve efficiency. Creta EV offers five levels of regenerative braking, allowing driver to customize the level of deceleration. The highest level of regenerative braking enables one-pedal driving, where the car can be brought to a complete stop  without using the brake pedal. 

The steering is well weighted and responsive, making the car easy to maneuver in city traffic also the added weight of the battery pack gives the car a planted feel, thus improving stability at higher speeds. Suspension of the Creta EV is well tuned to provide a comfortable ride even on rough roads. It is a practical and efficient choice for daily commutes and long journeys.

HYUNDAI CRETA

The Korean Automobile giant Hyundai has presented its updated Creta in India. Besides the exterior and interior changes, now this hot selling model is more tech loaded with advanced infotainment systems and ADAS level 2 features. The price of the base Petrol Manual-E variant starts at Rs.10.99 lakh and goes up to Rs.20.15 lakh for the top end Diesel variant.

Creta was always a manly car with its wide boxy structure and stylish designs, that style and boldness has been elevated to the next level with this version. Now the car comes with an updated radiator grille and bonnet. LED light bar and DRLs are provided on the car looks very premium. LED headlamps are provided under the DRLs. With all these, the large air dam and a skid plate like element  making the Creta a bold and handsome SUV from the front.

It is a stylish SUV from sides, the Creta is provided with 16 inch alloy wheels, thick black cladding starting from the front bumper passing all the way to the back and the power lines on the doors and body panels are giving it a muscular look, along with these, the high  ground clearance and roof rails are making it an SUV from sides. 

Hyundai has designed well the rear portion of this car and so the Creta is one of the few vehicle, which looks very attractive and beautiful from the rear. Hyundai Exter

Recently Hyundai has launched their sub compact SUV-Exter. It is a nice well looking car which comes with lot of features to pamper its owners. Price for the base EX variant of the Exter starts at Rs.6.0 Lakh and goes up to Rs.9.06 Lakh ex-showroom for the top end SX(O) Connect variant.

From the front it looks very different from typical Hyundai SUVs. It's a very new design from Hyundai. Here you can see square shaped projector headlamps and H shaped DRLS. Hyndai logo is provided on the bonnet and Exter badging is provided above the grille. A silver colour skid-plate like element provided on the car makes it an SUV from the front.

The Exter is a very good-looking vehicle from sides too. The car sits on a 15inch alloy wheels, design of the alloy is also very good. Thick power bulges on the doors and the black cladding which starts from the front bumper passing through the sides is giving it a muscular styling. Apart from this the car comes with roof rails too, that makes this vehicle a real SUV from sides.

It is a completely different Hyundai vehicle from rear in all sense. Hyundai logo is well placed on the middle of the carbon fiber like element on the boot lid of the Exter. Like the front DRL, H-shaped LED tail lamps and brake lights are provided. A high mounted LED stop lamp is provided under the spoiler. Shark fin antenna and rear wiper is also provided. As at the front a thick silver colored skid plate like element is provided at the rear makes it an SUV from this side.

Like any Hyundai or Kia models, Exter won't disappoint you while you are inside the car. It is a feature loaded SUV with well-furnished interior to pamper the young generation. The SUV is provided with an 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with tonnes of features is the major attraction on the dashboard. It can support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Apart from this the body colour inserted round air vents provided on the left and right of the dashboard is increasing the elegance and beauty of this small SUV to the next level.

It has a beautiful steering wheel with cruise control, bluetooth and radio-telephony switches. Paddle-Shifters are also provided with the AMT variant of the Exter. This steering wheel is having tilt adjustment too. The 8-inch Crystal clear driver side display provides all the vehicle and drive related information to the driver, is really a nice feature.

Exter comes with very comfortable seats with body colour textures on them. Both front seats can be adjusted manually for a comfortable seating. Rear seats are also comfortable, but it is ideally good for two passengers in long journeys. Rear A/c vents with a 12V charging point is also available with the Exter, which the Hyundai claims as segment first feature.

A Voice enabled smart electric single pane sunroof provided with the Exter making it a very premium compact SUV in its segment. It is a nice feature in this car in its price point.

Another segment first and a very useful feature is its Dash Cam. In today's traffic and reckless driving, it is a must have equipment in any vehicle in India. Thankfully, Hyundai has introduced it in the Exter. Now we can expect the same in other vehicles from other manufacturers. You can record both outside and inside view of the car through this equipment and also you can access this camera through your mobile too.

Engine and Performance

When come to the engine and performance, the Exter comes with two engine options. A 1.2-liter Kappa Petrol and a Bi-fuel Kappa Petrol with CNG with Automatic and Manual transmission options. The Bi-fuel engine is available with Manual Transmission only. Sluggish nature of the AMT is very minimal with the Exter and the paddle shifters provided on the car making it a fun to drive vehicle over other regular AMTs available in its segment. Its Manual Transmission is very smooth, and you will enjoy the drive with this transmission. But with the AMT you will get an additional comfort in the city traffic conditions so, unless you are a keen driving enthusiast it is better to go with the AMT variant.

Hyundai Verna

Hyundai has updated its mid-size sedan Verna recently. Now the car is longer,wider, sharper and powerful than its predecessor. Besides these the Verna now comes with some segment first features too.  It is available in manual and automatic variants and the ex-showroom price for its base EX variant starts at Rs.10.90 Lakh and goes up to Rs.17.38 Lakh for the top end SX Opt Turbo DCT DT variant. Let's look it in details.

Verna has completely changed from the front. Firstly, your attention will go to the new grille and the long LED DRLs of the Verna.

Now with this edition the Hyundai logo has shifted its place to the bonnet from the grille. Connected LED headlamps with cornering function is placed well without hampering the design of the grille. Turn indicator is also well integrated under the headlamp unit.

It is a long car from sides. The 4.53 meter length is evident from the side view of the Verna. Beautiful cuts and creases can be seen on the door panels. LED turn indicators are provided on the ORVMs.

The car sits on 16inch alloy wheels which looks really premium and beautiful. Black alloy with red brake calipers are provided with the Turbo-Petrol variants, which looks sporty too.

Verna looks really premium from the rear. You can see a Long LED strip that connect with tail lamp units, looks really beautiful from the rear.  Hyundai logo and Verna badging are provided on the boot lid. It has a boot space of 528 liters, which is the best boot space in the segment.

You will get different interior themes with variant types. The Turbo variant of the Verna are provided with black interiors, where as the other variants are coming with bright beige interiors. The car is provided with a manually adjustable two spoke telescopic steering wheel with music and adaptive cruise control switches on it. Turbo variant is provided with paddle shifters too.

The Verna comes with a very spacious cabin. All the seats are very well contoured seats. Driver seat can be adjusted electrically but seat height can be adjusted manually only. There are sufficient headroom and leg room are available for rear seat occupants. As the car is wider than the previous variant, three people can sit comfortably on the rear seat. A/c vents and mobile charging points are provided for the rear passengers too. The car is provided with 17 colour ambient lighting, which will make the cabin beautiful at night.

A single pane sun roof provided on the car making more upmarket and premium. Moreover this is making the car more spacious from inside. There are lot of storage spaces are provided inside the car. You will get two cup holders at the front console. There is a storage space under the driver arm rest. The Verna is now available in two engine options.

Both these engines are either mated with a 5-speed manual or an automatic (IVT/7-Speed DCT) transmissions. The manual variants are very smooth and providing a nice driving experience with both engine options. Gear shifts are silky smooth and you can enjoy the drive on every shifts.When come automatic variants there you have two options to choose..

When we consider the DCT variant, it is the super smooth automatic transmission, you won't feel any lag in between the gear shifts. But it is available only with the Turbo variants of the Verna. On the other hand the IVT is the typical CVT gear box which provides excellent driving experience. But you can feel that initial rubber band effect associated with the CVTs with this gear box. The IVT is provided with the naturally aspirated engine variants. Both the engines with their respective gear boxes are providing excellent driving comfort with the Verna.
